2008 Mexico-Mequon Workshop

On January 14th, 10 students and two professors from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary arrived in Torreón. Their purpose? To attend the Mexico-Mequon Workshop. For two days, they studied with six Mexican pastors and three Mexican seminary students.

Students on both sides of the border value the experience. The Mequon students get a feel for the Mexican culture. Even though there are many differences, they share the same beliefs as the Mexican students. As Paul Bowe, a WLS student noted, "How blessed we are to be in a church body where everything is uniform."

The Mexican students are encouraged from this visit. It gives them a chance to talk to other students and pastors. This motivates them to continue spreading the Gospel.

Through it all, they form lasting friendships. WLS student Paul Fritz attended for the second time this year. He was able to get "right back into this family that already accepted me before."

This was the seventh time the Mexico-Mequon Workshop was held. We're already looking forward to hosting one in 2008!
