Last Saturday seminary student Carlos Rosales got married! The wedding took place at a beautiful hacienda in southern Mexico. Mike performed the wedding service.
A few years ago, Carlos lived in Oaxaca, where he met Brígída. Then Carlos moved north and started studying at our seminary in Torreón. He and Brígída kept in touch, and eventually got engaged.
To travel to Oaxaca from Torreón is a long trip. It takes 20-plus hours by bus. (To get there, we took a plane rather than the bus, since we have a one-year-old and a baby-on-the-way!).
Brígída has a Christian background, and is excited about being involved with the Lutheran church. In August, she and Carlos will come back to Torreón, where Carlos will finish his seminary studies.
Coming to Torreón will be a big change for Brígída. She has lived her whole life in southern Mexico. She is now moving to the far, far north! There are many differences between northern and southern Mexico.
We are extremely happy for Carlos, and wish him the best in his new life as a married man! And we look forward to welcoming Brígída to Torreón soon.
Here are a few more pictures from the big day:
