In addition to worship, both congregations held despedidas (farewell parties) for the missionaries. At Jesus Pan de Vida, Pastor Juan Jose Olvera was installed during the service. He will take Missionary Ralph Marten's place, who had been serving the congregation before.

*We stayed for a farewell potluck at Jesus Pan de Vida, but I forgot to get pictures of it. I was too busy helping Trinity eat and feeding Noelle, who ate a ton of food that day(!), to pull out the camera or ask someone else to take photos for me.

I have been reading your blog posts more and more often. When I read your family is moving to Leon I was like 'No Way!'
I visited there on a business trip in Feb 2008 and loved it and I think you also will enjoy the city. I would love to go down there again and visit Leon and your family and see how the Lutheran life is in Mexico.
(Recommendation: I very much enjoyed the zoo in Leon- I think your little girls will too!) May God Bless you and Mike with the work that is being done in Mexico.

Our moving truck just got in last night and today we're getting things unpacked in the new house.
And you're right, I am really enjoying the city so far, and am anxious to take the girls to see the zoo! (and am hoping there's a lion there, since Trinity's been wondering about seeing a "Leon" (lion in English) in this city.)
