Jorge Briones Graduates from the Mexican Lutheran Seminary

Praise be to God, we have another Mexican pastor! Jorge Briones graduated from the Mexican Lutheran Seminary this past Wednesday, January 12th. (Read about his journey to fulltime ministry here).

His graduation took place during this year's Mexico-Mequon workshop. This is an annual workshop, usually held in Puebla, Mexico. Each year, students and professors from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis. come down to Mexico. They join up for a few days with our Mexican pastors and seminary students. It's always a special time for all involved: a chance to worship together, spend time with each other, and grow together in God's Word (read about last year's workshop here.)

Now a pastor, Jorge will head to Majahual at the end of February. He'll be responsible for a mission congregation there. Before he does that, however, he has one more big event on the horizon - Jorge and his fiance Kerry Pamperin will get married in Puebla in mid-February.

Congratulations on the graduation, Jorge, and a big start to 2011!
