Visitors!

Last week five WELS leaders came to Mexico and hit the streets of León. These men came representing a number of divisions in WELS: World Missions, WELS Kingdom Workers, and Christian Aid and Relief. While here, they investigated the possibility of sending volunteers to Mexico to serve on a short-term basis (a week or two at a time).

Short-term volunteers can be a great blessing. If used in Mexico, they could help carry out humanitarian aid efforts. These aid programs would have the purpose of constructing a bridge to the Gospel - a great benefit indeed.

Mike and two leaders from the Mexican Lutheran Church met with these men for a few days. They discussed what could be done, should a short-term volunteer program come to pass. They visited the city and saw areas such as this:

We're so thankful these leaders came and visited with us. Mike and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, listening to the news they had to share from other countries, such as Haiti and India. Hearing about what's going on in these places is always encouraging for us, and it's inspiring when we can hear first-hand accounts of what's going on in those areas.

Thanks so much for coming, everyone! We loved having you, and look forward to working with you in the future.
