On this week's WELSTech podcast, Mike talks to Sallie Draper and Martin Spriggs about the Proclaimer.
As Mike describes it, the Proclaimer is like an "all-terrain Bible." It's a solar-powered, wind-up MP3 player. Its playlist can be summed up in one word: Scripture. This audio device contains the words of the New Testament.
Because it can operate without batteries or a cord, the Proclaimer is a powerful tool in rural areas where electricity is not always reliable, and batteries are considered expensive.
Some of our pastors - like Carlos Rosales, pictured above at his seminary graduation service - are using the Proclaimer here in Mexico with positive results. People enjoy listening to it, and Pastor Rosales uses the player for devotions, Bible studies, and other opportunities to share the Gospel.
You can find additional links and information about the Proclaimer on the WELSTech site.
While I'm excited that Mike was interviewed (you sounded great, Michael :) ), I want to note that Mike was already quite familiar with the WELSTech podcast. He listens to it every week. I often hear him sharing what he's learned from it with others, applying tips he picks up from the podcast to his own ministry, or simply encouraging others to listen to it.
I think this shows how resourceful the podcast is - if missionaries outside of the country can get valuable application out of it, I think that says a lot! It covers the needs of a broad audience and has something for everyone on its shows.
So listen to Mike if you want (he's on Episode 170) or start joining in on a weekly basis.
And a special thanks to Martin and Sallie for your continued great work!
p.s. Next week, we'll wrap up the recipe series! For real :) Stay tuned...

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for sharing information about WELSTech and for your positive words about our work. It is our prayer that the podcast be a blessing to those who share the precious Gospel message and that technology can somehow assist in those efforts. Through the use of technology on this blog and others I watch the work of our Mexico missionaries and their families from afar and am very thankful that we can stay close to you in this way!
God's continued blessings to all the Hartmanns!
Sallie Draper
Thanks for the comments and kind words, Sallie! God's blessings on your ministry as well!
Rachel
