Wedding in Puebla

This last weekend, our former seminary student (now a pastor) Jorge Briones and Kerry Pamperin got married. Congratulations Jorge and Kerry! We're so happy for both of you.

Mike and I were there when the relationship started...back in Torreón when Jorge was a seminary student and Kerry was teaching English as a WELS Kingdom Worker volunteer.

After finishing her year in Torreón, Kerry headed back to Martin Luther College to finish her studies. She graduated with a teaching degree this past December. The two of them were married in Puebla, Mexico, and will head to Majahual later this month.

Mike preached for the wedding. Reflecting on it, he notes, "It's so exciting to see such a dedicated Christian couple come together. What a blessing, both for them and for the Mexican church."

It was a beautiful wedding, with so many touches of Mexican finesse to it.

Jorge's family, some of whom are new members, helped with quite a bit of the ceremony and food preparation. They made a huge batch of mixiotes for the main meal that was served at the reception. Check out the pot -

We didn't get a picture of the mixiotes being served at the wedding, but you can see a picture of them, and a sample recipe here.

Congratulations once again, Jorge and Kerry. We're so excited for the two of you, and know that God will bless you as you head to Majahual later this month and start a new life - together (at last!) - there.

Thank you so much Rachel for the lovely article! Truth be told I was stunned by the size of that pot as well. (We returned it later to the lady from whom we had borrowed it and I thanked God I didn't carry it when it was full of mixiotes!) God-willing we will see you someday soon, and until then, God's richest blessings to you in Leon!

Kerry,
Yes, that pot must have weighed a ton when it was full of mixiotes!!! We truly are so very happy for you guys, and I am terribly sorry I couldn't make it. I would have loved to be there, but I did hear about it from Mike, who thought it was such a great wedding (he also loved your vows to each other - what a good idea!). Can't wait till our lives cross again! Blessings on the move,
Rachel
